Active learning

In He Puna Kawenga we did active learning.  Active learning is something fun and hands on. First we had to write a three things we learnt about snowflakes for a book. 
1) Snow is soft and fluffy
2) It is made out of cold ice 
3) Snow forms when water vapor  in the atmosphere and freezes into Ice.

Here are 3 things I learnt from the internet:
1) Snowflakes are form in variety of different shapes. 
2) Heavy snowfall is often called snowstorms.
3) Light and fluffy snow is called powder.

In He Puna kawenga we have been learning to write descriptions.To write descriptions you have to be good at noticing,observing and wondering.

We went around the school doing this then wrote

poems inspired by Frank Kendon's the Looker on.

                                  

And cars beeping at other cars

And people  swimming in the clear water

And hot rocks melting in the sun

And bird chirping to other

And rooms coming out to play

And bushes filled with spider webs

And bright blue sky too hard to look at

And people talking in class

And leaves crunching under your toes

And hot concrete burning your toes of

A place rememberd

We had to describe our bedroom. We had to use adjectives and verbs to make it more interesting. Here is my description.

As soon as the white door opens a big as bunk-bed sticks out like a dark shadow. Beside the big dark bed is a shelf filled with pink baskets and toys. At the end of my huge dark bed is a huge barbie house. Also in the messy wardrobe is a mountain of clothes. 

6 Word Memoir

He Puna Kawenga  did  six word memoir we had to chose six words and show our teacher After that we have to be creative and draw it. then we had to go over it with Sharpe and then we had to colour it in and  show it in  Assembly.Then the teacher hung it up in class.. 

play dough it was fun.

Last week in the hall we made play dough with Room five. We had to use ingredients and we had to work in a team and with our buddies for the play dough.

We had a bowl then we got two cups of flour into the bowl. Then add 1/2 cup of salt then mix in with 2 tbsp cream of Tartar. Also add two tbsp of oil. 

Then get food coloring and  pour boiling water into the bowl and mix until they form the dough. 

After we were done with the play dough we made stuff with it  I made a cake butterfly, snail candies also flowers and that was it. 

We had to take a photo from the teachers camera and put it on our drive. then we wrote about our play dough on our writing book but we had to write the ingredients instead.

When we were done with that we copy it on our computer.                                            

What I want to get better at

1. I want to get better at  my handwriting and my spelling because I want to be on list six so I  can get better at spelling.

2. I also want to get better at art and my reading. 

3. I want to get better at maths so I can learn more times.

Art gallery

In the morning we had to pay for the trip to the art gallery

or In class. I felt happy and excited to go there.

When the belle rang He puna Kotuitui had to come to class

quickly. When everyone came Mrs McIntyre had told  us to get our bags and our shoes and our jerseys or jackets.

Then Mrs McIntyre said to line up quietly. Alter that we went down to the back gate and whatx for the bus.

Alter a while the bus came. Mrs Wilton-Scott send the boys to go in first.Then Mrs Ravindrin came to.when all of us was on the bus I had to sit by Aaliyana. When the bus was moving it was moving very fast. It was also bumpy a little bit. Then the bus stop because we were there.

Then we met a woman named sasica she said that

She been working a lot of making staff out of clay.

When we went in we saw some nomes that were holding different things. Then we saw all kind of moths some were the same some weren't. Then we went to the clay room. Sasica showed us two things. Then Sasica asked Miss Witon -Scott

If they should wear aprints  or not she said yes. Then we sat at a table and waited for the clay so we could start making our  creatures with clay. frist I got the clay and made the shoulders. Then I did the ears and the noes and the eyes. Then I did the skore and the vinger and then i put the ears on and the noes and i spreed the noes on the face. Then for a while we had morning tea After morning tea we went back to our clay to finnsh. for a while we had to go back to school on the bus so we got our bags and lined up and said good by to sasica. Then we went outside and went in other different bus when i went on it was moving fast. for a while it was not moving at all and i got scared. Then it started to move. then we were back at school. At last we had lunch.
